This needs to be recorded: This police department lied about information regarding a suspect in a years long cold case. The retired police chief refused to apologize to the man that (Ray Mccann), after 82 times of never changing or adjusting his story over the course of 20+ interviews, said that no apology was needed. The only way they could even "charge" this man was with a false perjury charge, citing a video (that doesn't even show the trail head that they claimed it did) the police put an innocent man that they dragged through the mud behind bars. The knowingly presented false testimony and evidence, calling into question their professionalism and ability to ethically handle a case. Disgusting human beings were involved in this case and ruined the life of an innocent man, and they are damned lucky the real child killer and molester wasn't out killing children while they ignorantly chased a false lead. Detestable behavior from what I can assume are detestable human beings. The perjury charges were based on small inconsistencies in testimony that was given years later. One of which was "he said he hugged the mother, but she said she didn't think he did". And, again, they presented false evidence that resulted in a man having to plead no contest (not guilty, but understands the charges). They should be ashamed of their behavior. They did nothing to catch the killer, but was instead lucky enough for him to essentially fall into their hands.
